Jimmy Wayne Reid

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Reid age 80 of Pilot Mountain went home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 28th at Willowbrook Rehabilitation & Care Center in Yadkinville NC. He was born October 13th, 1939 in Surry County, the son of the late Walter and Daisy Reid of Siloam NC.

Dad was child of God, a Loving and Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and a dedicated member of Friendly Chapel Church of Pilot Mountain since 1966. Dad was an usher in the Church and served loyally in any capacity needed over the years.

Dad is survived by three children, Dallas & (Annette) Sawyers of Ararat Virginia, (Dale) & Tonya Reid of Pilot Mountain, & (John) & Janet Reid of Yadkinville; five grandchildren, Courtney Reid of Cape Coral FL, (Zach) & Sarah Sawyers of King, (Tyler) & Makenzie Reid of Boonville, Caroline and Caleb Reid of Pilot Mountain; two Great Grandchildren Maverick and Fisher Reid; one sister Thelma Payne of Blackwater NC, in laws Jerry & Dianne Barker, Mary Dean, Jerry & Joyce Cassell, Lou Barker all of Mt Airy as well as several nieces & nephews

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reid was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 58 years Mrs. Polly Reid, two grandsons Jacob and Joshua Sawyers of Ararat VA, brother-in-law Wayne Barker of Mt Airy & brother-in-law Frank Payne of Blackwater.

Dad was the anchor of our family teaching and providing all things thru the years that only a father can do. We will miss him dearly.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and special thanks to Bro Don Collins, Bro Darius Collins, and the entire Friendly Chapel Church Family for all the love and support over the years. Also, a special thank you Ann, Jennifer, Heather, Sam, Glenda & Sheena from Dunmore Plantation in Dobson NC as well as the entire staff at Willowbrook Rehabilitation & Care Center in Yadkinville NC.

The family will receive family and friends Monday December 30th at Friendly Chapel Church in Pilot Mountain from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday December 31st at Friendly Chapel Church. Bro Don Collins, Bro Darius Collins, & Bro Ray Hutson will be officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
