Jimmy Ferrell Stroud

Mr. Jimmy Ferrell Stroud, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away at his home on Friday afternoon, January 21, 2022. He was born in Surry County on April 9, 1937, to the late James Willie Stroud and Delpha Swaim Stroud. Jimmy proudly served our country in the US Army and retired from Roadway Express as terminal manager. Papa was a devoted family man who loved his family especially his precious grandchildren. Jimmy was an avid golfer and animal lover. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Ann Boles Stroud of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Stroud Bellamy and husband Richard of Little River, SC; Tamara Stroud Epperson and husband James of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Jonah Easter and Amber Hill, Jordan Easter Phillips and husband Jordan, Mason Epperson and Hailey Turpin, Kyle Epperson and Megan Mackie, Chad Bellamy and wife Courtney; and a great-grandson, Easton Bellamy. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Stroud family.
