Mrs. Joan Angeline Fleming Bingman, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, July 4, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Bingman was born December 2, 1940, in Surry County, to the late John W. Fleming, Sr. and Essie Martin Fleming. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Bingman of the home; a son, Mark McCoy of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter, Rita Reynolds and her husband, Steve, of Mount Airy; a stepson, Donald Bingman of Mount Airy; a God son, Will Cook of Mount Airy; a stepgrandson, Cory Reynolds of Mount Airy; a sister, Marion Gwyn of Winston-Salem; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Faye Fleming and Peggy Fleming, all of Mount Airy; and a special caregiver, Linda Lawson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bingman was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Sasser; and two brothers, Bobby Fleming and John Fleming, Jr. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Dobson. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Kermit L. Gray and the Rev. Hugh Bryant, and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
