Joan Marie Kirkman

Mrs. Joan Marie Holder Kirkman, 69, of Tobaccoville, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at her home.  Mrs. Kirkman was born October 11, 1948, in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late William Lee and Rachel Lumley Holder.  She was a graduate of Parkland High School and retired from Siemens Corporation after 35 years of service.  Surviving are her husband, Donald W. “Donnie” Kirkman; her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Ray Hall; her grandchildren, Brandy Rhodes and her husband, Brandon, Cody Hall and his wife, Kayla, and Buffie Renee Kirkman; her great-grandchildren, Rylee Rhodes and Reese Rhodes; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rocky Marion; and her sister-in-law, Linda Holder.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkman was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Lee Holder.  A graveside service will be held Monday, August 27, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy, with Dr. Jon Cawley officiating.  There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is honored to serve the Kirkman family.
