Ms. Joan Kidd Outlaw, 61, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, June 11, 2011. She was born May 31, 1950, in Forsyth County, to Harvey Allen Kidd and the late Ruby Lee Hardy Kidd. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a security guard at Weyerhaueser. She is survived by her father, Harvey Allen Kidd of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherry Outlaw of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Donald Gray Outlaw, Stephanie Renee Outlaw, and Jesse James Outlaw; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet and Tony Atkins of Mouny Airy and Joyce Lawrence of Westfield; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Linda Kidd of Mount Airy, Jack Kidd of King, and Joey and Robin Kidd of Dobson. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 13, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Blain Oakley officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Crystal Peele and Tonya Marsh. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Outlaw family.
