Joe Chavier

Mr. Joe Chavier age 86 of 175 Southview Street, Mount Airy, husband of Clara Horton Chavier, passed away on Friday February 9, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Chavier was born in Fall River, MA on September 27, 1920 son of the late Joseph T. Chavier and Antonia Augustine Chavier. He was past owner of J & C Parts, retired from Lowes Hardware, a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII and a member of the American Legion Post 123. Surviving are his wife, Clara Horton Chavier of the home, James and Carol Horton of White Plains, Sadie and Donald Spargo of Hueytown, AL and all of his special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Horton, Jeff Horton, Joe Horton, Jared Horton, Don Spargo and Jason Horton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Chaplain Todd Byrd with burial to follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Sunday night from 6:30 to 8:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
