Joe Sam Griffin

Mr. Joe Sam Griffin, age 64 of East Elm Street, Mount Airy passed away at Twelve Oaks Rest Home Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Mr. Griffin was born in Surry county October 3, 1942 to the late Warren Mack and Margie Corn Griffin. He was retired from Amp Incorporated in Greensboro and was a member of the Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. He is survived by a son, Casey Griffin of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Clay Griffin of Pilot Mountain; a very special friend and love of his life, Margaretta Sheppard of Hillsville, VA and a sister and brother-in-law, Mona and Kenneth Horton of Mount Airy and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Richard Loman with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice and the staff at Twelve Oaks. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
