Mr. Joe Bill Snow, 75, of Dobson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 22, 1935, in Yadkin County, to the late Howard Franklin and Effie Dale Vernon Snow. Mr. Snow retired from Southland Trucking, was a dedicated member of Salem Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 52 years, Gaynell Bledsoe Snow of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Cecil Gillespie of Dobson; a son, Greg Snow of Dobson; three adored grandchildren, Tonya Gillespie, Samantha Snow, and Meghan Snow; a brother-in-law, James Bledsoe and his wife, Rosemary, of Dobson; and several devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Snow was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Johnson and Molly Atkins; and a brother, Curtis Snow. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 19, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church, with Dr. Bobby Lewis and the Rev. Darrell Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for their loving, compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
