Joffery William Mabe

Mr. Joffery William Mabe, age 90 of Stuart passed away Friday evening at his home. He was born on March 22, 1916 in Stokes County, NC to the late Walter and Nora Rogers Mabe. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, William Byron Mabe; six brothers; and five sisters. Mr. Mabe was a lifelong farmer, worked for 13 years with the Grounds and Maintenance Department at DeHart Park in Stuart, and was of Primitive Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Virginia C. Mabe of the home; four daughters and sons in law, Patricia and Clyde Crissman of Stuart, Phyllis Turner of Stuart, Wanda and Jerry Parrish of Claudville, Teresa and Danny Mabe of Lawsonville, NC; three sons and daughters in law, Roger and Sharon Mabe of Woodlawn, Douglas and Shirley Mabe of Stuart, Bobby and Kathy Mabe of Stuart; 17 randchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; and one sister, Rachel Clark of Henry. There will be a Graveside service Monday, July 24, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Mabe Family Cemetery with Elders Ken Hopkins and John Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Patrick County, 835 Woodland Dr., Suite 101, Stuart, VA 24171.
