John William Fleming, Jr

Mr. John William Fleming, Jr. age 76 of 313 Broad Street, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Peggy Belton Fleming passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County, He was born June 1, 1930 in Surry County, NC to the late John William Fleming, Sr. and Essie Martin Fleming. Mr. Fleming served his country as a U.S. Marine during The Korean War. He was the former owner and operator of Fleming Pest Control and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Surviving are his wife, Peggy B. Fleming of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Fleming Easter and Glenn, Judy Fleming Sechrist and Roger; son John W. Fleming III and friend, Amy Dawson grandchildren and spouses, Eva Cassell and Michael, Eric Sechrist and Heather, all of Mt. Airy; Coty and Victoria of Cana, VA; seven great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan and Jim Bingman, Marian Gwyn, and a brother, Charles and Fay Fleming. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Roger Sechrist. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mtn.. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
