John Wayne Gunter

Mr. John Wayne Gunter, Jr. age 58, of Mount Airy passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 surrounded by his family at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. Mr. Gunter was born on December 19, 1966, to Johnnie Wayne Gunter and the late Shirley Creed Wilson. He was a estimator for Sunshine Striping Company and was a member of the Good News Baptist Church. Surviving are his fiancée, Beth Williams, his children, Nathan Gunter and spouse, Stacy Gunter, Summer Gunter, Bella Gunter, Kristi Gunter, Nikki Gunter, Caleb Smith, and Cayden Smith, a grandchild, Loland Gunter, his father and step-mother, Johnnie Gunter and Beverly Putynkowski, a sister and brother-in law, Michele and Nick Sechrist, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and April Gunter, two half-brothers and spouses, Mark and Dana Johnson, Kevin and Tammy Johnson and three special friends, Christy Smith, Marc Zannini and Bobby Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 3, 2025 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with visitation Sunday, 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM  at Moody Funeral Home. The service will be conducted by Pastor Noah Johnson and Pastor Gray Williams Burial will follow at Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
