John William Hiatt

Mr. John William Hiatt, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Hiatt was born November 6, 1926, in Surry County, the son of the late John Armon and Sena McMillian Hiatt. He was a long-time resident of Mount Airy. Mr. Hiatt served in the United States Navy during World War II until his discharge and was employed by Hiatt T.V. in Mount Airy until his retirement. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Lillian Hiatt of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Hiatt McMillian, Opal Hiatt Vernon, and Camilla Hiatt Stover; and two brothers, Russell E. Hiatt and Wilbur S. Hiatt. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced later.
