John Earl Hubbard

       Mr. John Earl Hubbard, age 85 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on September 4, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  He was born in Patrick County on February 5, 1935, to the late Elijah Hubbard and Clemmie Pendleton Hubbard.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brandi Marie Hubbard; two brothers, Eldon Hubbard and Harold Hubbard; and one sister, Rachel Pendleton.  Mr. Hubbard was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.  Earl loved everyone and was willing to help anyone he could help.

       Mr. Hubbard is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years,  Helen Conner Hubbard; two sons, Teddy Hubbard and Rickey Hubbard, both of Stuart; seven grandchildren; one sister, Annette Rorrer of Stuart; a special caregiver, Leanna Tatum of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.

       Funeral services for Mr. Hubbard will be held on Monday, September 7, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Pastor Shaun Draughn and Rev. Gerald Melton officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Hubbard will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, c/o Nancy Midkiff, Treasurer, 171 Sycamore Church Lane, Stuart, VA  24171.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
