Mr. John Wesley Inman, 82, of 1744 Jessup Road, Westfield passed away Friday afternoon, February 4, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Inman was born November 23, 1928, in Patrick County, VA, son of the late Arthur and Nina Inman. John retired from J.P. Stevens Inc. and was a member of Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy and the Rev. Rickey Rogers of Westfield, Lisa and Jerry Joyce of Danbury, and Jeanette Bullins of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Danielle and Thomas Robertson of Pilot Mountain, Christie and Will Sheppard of Mount Airy, and Wesley Joyce and Emily Joyce, both of Danbury; four great-grandchildren, Marlie Easter, Celia Robertson, and Abigail Robertson, all of Pilot Mountain, and Anne Rachel Sheppard of Mount Airy; a sister, Louise Cole of Westfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Andy and Lena Inman and Akers Inman, all of Martinsville, VA; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Mary Wall of Westfield; and his loyal companion, Friskey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Inman was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Pruitt Inman; a sister, Martha Mitchell; and a brother, Russell Inman. A service to celebrate the life of John will be held Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 6:00 PM at Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Rickey Rogers, the Rev. Dwayne Lester, and the Rev. Wesley Flippin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. A committal service will be held Monday, February 7, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the church cemetery. His body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Sunday evening. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Inman family.
