John Marion "Jack" Martin, Jr

Mr. John Marion "Jack" Martin, Jr., 73, of 173 Tulip Lane, Mount Airy, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2008, while a patient at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Martin was born March 3, 1935, in Surry County, to the late John Marion Martin, Sr. and Mae Artibee Martin. He served our country in the United States Army. Jack was a truck driver for Roadway Express for many years and attended Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by two stepsons and spouses, Donnie and Cathy Huffman of Mount Airy and Trent and Melissa Huffman of Lawrenceville, GA; three stepgrandchildren, Erin Huffman of Mount Airy, and Reece Huffman and Ben Huffman, both of Lawrenceville, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia M. and Jerry Briggs of Mount Airy and Roberta M. and John Robinson of Merritt Island, FL; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde B. and Margaret Martin of Orlando, FL, Glenn L. and Sarah Martin of Carrollton, VA, and Ralph S. and Regina Martin of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Nirelle "Nell" Willard Huffman Martin. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Jerry Pardue officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at 173 Tulip Lane, Mount Airy.
