John Sink Pulliam, Jr.

Dr. John Sink Pulliam, Jr. 55, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 10, 2022, at age 55 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois. John was preceded in death by his father, John S. Pulliam, Sr. and his mother, Annie Booze Pulliam. He is survived by his three greatest blessings, his daughters, Caroline (21), Addison (18), and Victoria (15), his two brothers, Terry Cobb and Kyle Greenwood (Margaret), his children’s mother, Traci Pulliam, his partner, Terrie Hudson, and her daughter, Kelby Hall (Jacob) and son, Nick Rasmussen (Carol). John grew up in King, NC where he was a scholarly athlete at South Stokes High School. He attended UNC Pembroke on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a business degree. He was a dynamic salesman at many different companies including Hanes Dye & Finishing and Lincare. During his thirteen years of sobriety, john obtained his master’s in counseling and Ph.D. in mental Health. He established Reformers Unanimous at Temple Baptist Church, a discipleship program for recovering addicts. John was the founder and owner of Choose Life Counseling Services, a successful mental health and substance abuse practice that served both Stokes and Surry County. He also started and pastored Word of Faith Church in Mount Airy. John’s favorite things to do were to spend time with his family and his Heavenly Father through studying and teaching the Word. He enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching all sports. John was so many things to so many people, He was a wonderful dad, a loving son, a helpful brother, an encouraging friend, and a life-changing counselor. To know him was to love him and his legacy will live on forever. A celebration of life service will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Mount Airy at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Reformers Unanimous. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
