John Paul Reid

Mr. John Paul Reid, age 44, of Lowgap passed away at his home on December 24th. He was born November 17, 1977, in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania to Robert David Reid and Jewel Shirley Reid. He was the loving husband of Marie Smith Reid, a wonderful Dad to Alex Smith, and loving Daddy to his baby girl Maisie Rhae Reid. Surviving are his brothers, Mike “Mikeums” Reid and wife Stacey of Lowgap and James A Reid of Russelton Pennsylvania. Nieces, Avianna “Nina Bina” Reid of Lowgap. Melissa Reid of Arizona, Kyra Smith of Baltimore, and Paige Dixon-Journey of Lowgap. Nephew Derek Reid and girlfriend Cassie Harrison of Mt. Airy. John was the beloved son-in-law of Kenneth and Donna Smith of Mt. Airy and brother-in-law of Scotty Smith and fiancée Stephanie Thomas. Special grandson-in-law to Donald R Griffin of Mt. Airy. Special friends Brandy Smith, Kelsey Utt and Anthony Sheets. Mr. Reid was employed by Full Force Industries of South Dakota as an HDD operator, specializing in all terrain rock drilling. John was an avid trout fisherman, with a standing date on opening day. He was a hard-working man who knew the importance of family and friends. Marie and Family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to John's Brotherhood of friends for all of their love and support during this heartbreaking time. You are friends of the highest caliber. It will never be forgotten. A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. 217 Faith Baptist Church Way, Mt. Airy.
