John William "Bill" Rippey

Mr. John William “Bill” Rippey, age 74 of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Charlotte Health and Rehab.  Mr. Rippey was born on June 24, 1948, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late John Raymond and Catherine Boyd Rippey.  Bill was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He was well known for his musical teachings and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Rippey Temoney and Andy; three grandchildren, Megan France, Brandon France, John Wesley Hargrave and wife Jennifer; one great-grandchild Kendrick Elliott; one brother, Tommy Rippey; one niece; and four nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Rippey was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Susan Franklin.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Justin McCreary officiating.  Interment will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Moody Funeral Services has been entrusted with Mr. Rippey’s arrangements.
