John Hampton Sizemore

Mr. John Hampton Sizemore, age 81 of Dobson went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday morning September 12, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. He was born in Yadkin Co. on May 31, 1927 to the late Rev. Harley Monroe and Lora Scott Sizemore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elsie Marie Bledsoe Sizemore. He was a veteran having served in Italy. He was a retired Auctioneer and attended Bear Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Pastor Buddy Sizemore of Abee's Chapel Baptist Church and his wife Teresa Sizemore of Valdese, NC, Keith and Deanna Sizemore of Winston Salem, NC; by three grandchildren David Gray Sizemore, Kaitlin Danielle Sizemore and Kaleb Gray Sizemore. Funeral services will be held 4PM Sunday at Bear Creek Baptist Church, Dobson, NC, with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. Rev. Dan Buie, Rev Jerry Pardue and Rev. Buddy Sizemore will conduct the Services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Saturday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 PM. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Bear Creek Baptist Church Mission Fund or to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
