John Grey Smith

Mr. John Grey Smith, age 66, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  He was born on May 26, 1953 to the late James and Lockie Lawson Smith.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Helen Martin Smith of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kimberly Roberts; grandchildren, Tyler McGrady and T. J. McGrady; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin Ray Smith and wife Lou; sisters and brothers-in-law, Etta and Jay Arrington, Donna and Greg Stoltz, Wanda and Carroll Hall, Mary Dowse; eight sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law as well as several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great- nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Arlis Thomas.  Burial will follow in Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. airy.  In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Johns memory to Lowgap Wildlife Club,  948 Miller Road, Mt.
