John Junior Snow

Mr. John Junior Snow, 66, of 102 McGuffin Drive, Dobson, passed away Friday morning, May 14, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Snow was born October 12, 1943, in Surry County, son of the late John Quincy and Mamie Odell Collins Snow. John retired from Wayne Farms and was a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a son, Ricky Snow of Norfolk, VA; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathleen and Jimmy Crabb, Ruth Monday, and Mary Gwyn, all of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Karen Poteat and Danny Vickers of Lowgap; and a special friend, Nellie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter David Collins, James "Billy" Snow, and Paul Snow. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for all the love, care, and compassion shown to Junior during his illness.
