Mr. Johnny Paul Beasley, 92, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Valdese General Hospital, Monday, December 21, 2020.  He was born in Stokes County, March 7, 1928, to the late Arthur and Maggie Lawson Beasley.  He retired from Centel Telephone Company and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.  Mr. Beasley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Michael Orders; and grandchildren, Michael Robert Orders, Jr., and John Clifton Orders and wife, Amanda; and a sisters, Dot Brannock, and Anna Belle Hodges; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Glenda Beasley; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Joyce Beasley; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Ruby and Jim Pruitt, and Ben Brannock; and brothers and sister-in-law, Claude Beasley and Clarence and Juanita Beasley.  Due to health concerns at this time, there will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM, at Skyline Memory Garden on Monday, December 28, 2020 with the Rev. Jay Meadows officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home, although the body will lie-in-state at Moody Funeral Home Monday from 11:00 until 1:00 PM.
