Johnny Ray Vaughn

Mr. Johnny Ray Vaughn, 51, of 589 White Pines Country Club Road, Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, October 21, 2013, at his home. Mr. Vaughn was born March 26, 1962, in Surry County, one of four children born to John Early and Margaret Money Vaughn. Johnny worked in the construction industry for many years. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Robertson Vaughn of the home; his parents, John Early and Margaret Money Vaughn of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah Kay and Jimmy Dale Phillips of Mount Airy and Linda Diane and Donnie Casstevens of Pilot Mountain; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Lee and Barbara Vaughn of Mount Airy; and his mother-in-law, Ruby Robertson of Cana, VA. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Russell Vass officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
