Mr. Jonathan David Johnson, 34, of Lowgap, passed away unexpectedly May 16, 2020.  He was born in Surry County, August 9, 1985 to Sue Bryant Haynes and the late David Lee Johnson.  Jonathan had a warm heart with a big smile.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his daughter and church family.  Jonathan was very competitive when it came to corn hole.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amber Johnson; his daughter, Maddie Johnson; his step-daughter, Hallie Tate; his mother and step-father, Sue and Mike Haynes; his sister and brother-in-law, Brandi and Jacob Thompson; nephews, Bryce and Landon Thompson; grandfather, Rev. Lester “Pa” Bryant; a step-brother, Michael Haynes step-sisters and brothers-in-law, Sendee and Michael Dozier, Misty Perez; his step-mother, Rhonda Johnson; step-sisters, Shauna and Matthew Hunter, Amber and Chad Bond, and Carlie Quesenberry.  In addition to his father, Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maggie Bryant; and paternal grandparents, Fred and Sylvia Johnson.  Due to the health concerns with the Covid 19 the family will be having a private graveside service at Ivy Green Baptist Church cemetery.  The family would like to express their appreciation to Alpha Acres and Swan Creek Baptist Church for the kindness and care given to Jonathan while he was in the recovery program.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Winston Salem Rescue Mission 718 N.
