Jose "Andres" Hernandez

Mr. Jose “Andres” Hernandez, 95, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Mexico on November 7, 1924 to the late Cesario Hernandez and Venancia Morales Hernandez.  Mr. Hernandez was a farmer who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his wife, Ester Garcia Hernandez; daughters, Elizabeth Hernandez, and Oliva Hernandez Garcia; sons and daughters-in-law, Jose and Carmen Hernandez, Ruben and Margarita Hernandez, Abel and Isabel Hernandez; fifteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren; a brother, Porfirio Hernandez; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hernandez was preceded in death by a grandchild, Everardo Hernandez; brothers, Juventino Hernandez, and Rodolfo Hernandez.  A graveside service will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Second Chance Church Cemetery with Pastor Antonio Landa officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday from 1:15 until 2:15 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
