Joseph Conzone, Jr

Mr. Joseph Conzone, Jr., 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009, at his home. Mr. Conzone was born November 13, 1929, in Oswego, NY, to the late Joseph Conzone, Sr. and Rose Salesi Conzone. He served our country in the United States Marines during World War II and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Conzone was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Able Conzone of Mount Airy; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and JoAnn Conzone of Oswego, NY, Warren and Marie Conzone of Mount Airy, Steve and Moni Conzone of Stuart, FL, Jimmy and Paula Jacobs of Cordova, TN, Daniel and Patty Jacobs of Memphis, TN, Paul and Linda Jacobs of Mocksville, and Michael and Linda Jacobs of Mount Airy; fourteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Conzone was preceded in death by a son, Michael Conzone; a sister, Mona Osmond; and a brother, Buddy Conzone. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, conducted by Father Eric Kowalski. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends after the graveside service in the fellowship hall of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
