Joseph Lynn Dellinger

Mr. Joseph Lynn Dellinger, 68, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at his home.  Mr. Dellinger was born July 25, 1951, in Surry County, the son of the late Raymond and Connie Estelle Kidd Dellinger.  He graduated from Surry Central High School and was a veteran of the United States Army.  Joseph was retired from Rite Aid Corporation, and after his retirement he enjoyed his time on Main Street in Mount Airy collecting books, records, and memorabilia.  He is survived by a sister, Lydia D. Dameron; a nephew, Demian Dellinger; and a great-niece, Shauna-Madita Reichl.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Dellinger was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Allan Dameron.  The funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2019, at 12:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Neil Routh officiating.  Interment will follow in God’s Acre, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until noon at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Memorial Honor Guard, 285 Pine Ridge Trail, Pinnacle, NC  27043.
