Joseph Ray "Joe" Greene

Mr. Joseph Ray "Joe" Greene, 60, of Dobson, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at Britthaven Nursing Center in Wilkesboro. Mr. Greene was born June 16, 1948, in Surry County, to the late Miles Wilson and Mary Boles Greene. Mr. Greene served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and was retired from Carolina Tire. Surviving are three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Peggy and Hassell Dollyhigh, Carolyn and Larry Newman, and Mary Elizabeth Webb, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by a brother, Miles Wilson Green, Jr. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Korners Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Moore officiating and military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at Korners Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy will be assisting the Greene family.
