Joseph Columbus Guynn

Mr. Joseph Columbus "J.C." Guynn, 99 and 8 months, of 2202 Lighting Ridge Road, Fancy Gap, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Mount Airy. Mr. Guynn was born June 6, 1910, in Carroll County, VA. He was a retired farmer and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Guynn was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Haynes Guynn; a daughter, Julie Helen Osborne; and three sons, John Franklin Guynn, Joe Guynn, and Emmett Guynn. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emmett Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
