Joseph Walter Herbst

Mr. Joseph Walter Herbst, 84, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011, at his home. He was born September 12, 1926, in the Borough Manhattan, New York, to the late Jacob and Williema Bourgerhausen Herbst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bruce Herbst. Mr. Herbst was a hunter, fisherman, and a gardner. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Dori and Keith Fritzinger of Dobson; two grandchildren, Rachel Hurt and Joshua Fritzinger; a great-granddaughter Caitlin Hurt; three brothers, Warren Herbst of New Jersey, Bedfort Herbst of California, and Richard Herbst of Dobson. There will be no formal services held. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Herbst family.
