Joseph Ernest Knight, Jr

DANVILLE, VA - Joseph "Joe" Ernest Knight, Jr., 77, of 1200 Silver Creek Road, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. He had been hospitalized for a year. A native of Danville, VA, he was born June 21, 1933, a son of the late Joseph Ernest Knight, Sr. and India Christeen Taylor Knight. Mr. Knight was a wonderful Christian who loved the Lord, life, and his family. He was a Korean War veteran. Surviving are his wife, Norma Nichols Knight of the home; four daughters, Christeen and Elaine Knight of Siloam, Norma Jo Prekker of Danville, VA, and Harvette Bartolome of Bolingbrook, IL; two sons, Joey Knight of Danville, VA, and Tim Knight of Blanch; and twelve grandchildren. Also, he is survived by a sister, Doris Knight of Danville, VA; a niece; and two nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery, with the Rev. Greg Robinson officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christeen Knight, 3124 NC 268, Siloam, NC 27047 to pay for the funeral expenses.
