Joseph Earnest Wheeler

Mr. Joseph Earnest "Papa Joe" Wheeler, 56, of 957 Toms Creek Road, Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the home of his daughter. He was born August 11, 1953, in Detroit, MI, to the late Wendell Boyd and Ruth Ann Wheeler Lyons. Mr. Wheeler was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Surviving are the mother of his children, Diane Wheeler of Mount Airy; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandy Nicole and Daniel Phillips of Pilot Mountain; two sons, Joseph James Wheeler and Justin Nicholas Wheeler, both of Dobson; six grandchildren, Justin Jonathan Wheeler, Levi Blake Phillips, Autumn Marie Phillips, Kimberly Danielle Wheeler, Kenly Gray Wheeler, and Jessie Lee Phillips; and a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah Ann and Randall Judkins of Roseville, MI. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by a grandson, Owen Nicholas Wheeler. A memorial service will be held will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the home of Brandy Nicole Phillips, 957 Toms Creek Road, Pilot Mountain, conducted by friends and family. The family will receive friends at any time at 957 Toms Creek Road, Pilot Mountain. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made toward Mr. Wheeler's funeral expense at Moody Funeral Services, Inc., P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
