Josephine Easter Towe

Mrs. Josephine Easter Towe, 86, of Greensboro, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Morningview Assisted Living in Greensboro. Mrs. Towe was born April 28, 1926, in Surry County, to the late Grover Cleveland and Annie McCreary Easter. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty McCormick and Dan Sander of Greensboro; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Ginger Towe of Bonaire, GA, Leigh and Craig Longhurst of Winston-Salem, Allison and Mark Hilton of Conover, Kim and Jeff Bowman of East Bend, and Julia Sander and Will Sander, both of Greensboro; great-grandchildren, Matthew Towe, Abram Hilton, Caitlin Hilton, Hattie Hilton, Whit Longhurst, and Warner Longhurst; sisters, Christine Hawks and Wanda Kirkman, both of Mount Airy; and a brother, Glenn Easter of High Point. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Towe was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Beauford Towe; daughters, Janet Shannon and Patricia Towe; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Towe; and a brother, Arnold Easter. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Rev. Dr. James Joseph officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 123 Mount Carmel Church Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
