Joy Lynn Moorefield

Mrs. Joy Lynn Moorefield, age 46, born on August 9, 1978, in Reidsville, North Carolina, passed away on December 28, 2024, at her residence in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. She was a beloved wife to Douglas Moorefield, and a devoted mother to her cherished baby girl, Hazel. Joy was known for her infectious laughter, and vibrant personality, always filling the room with joy and light. She adored her nieces and nephews, treating them as her own and they brought her happiness throughout her life. Her love for animals was evident, and she had a special bond with her furry friends. Her culinary prowess was unique, particularly her ability to make canned tomatoes disappear in the blink of an eye. Joy often found pleasure in the simple things, including her favorite tv show, Gordan Ramsay. Joy is survived by her mother, Joyce Matthews; sisters, Jennifer Matthews and Julie Matthews. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Joys’ legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Jessup Grove’s Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 AM with her aunt Cathy Mutarelli officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral in Dobson. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Moorefield family.
