Joyce Elizabeth Cook

Mrs. Joyce Elizabeth Moore Cook, age 86, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Cook was born in Iredell County on November 1, 1933, to Lonnie L. and Mary Elizabeth Haire Moore.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Among the many who will cherish her sweet memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Johnny Goins; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Danette Cook; grandchildren, Mara Pratt and husband Ryan, Myles Cook and wife, Courtney, and Jerad Cook and wife Amy; great grandchildren, Adalyn Pratt, Peyton Pratt and Delaney Cook; and a brother, Mike Moore.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Harris Cook; and a brother, Wallace Moore.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Alex Martin.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
