Joyce Reece Hudson

Mrs. Joyce Reece Hudson, age 66, of Elkin, NC passed away on Sunday July 18, 2021, surrounded by her family at PruittHealth in Elkin. She was born in Surry County on July 2, 1955 to the late Homer Lee Reece and the late Mattie Mae Holt Reece. Joyce was a devoted mother, and an even more faithful grandmother. She spent her last years caring for and loving her grandchildren.

Surviving are her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Freddy and Monica Hudson, Tim Hudson and Emily Pack; grandchildren Cayden Hudson, Emory Everhart, Saylor Hudson, and Sophie Pack; sister and brother-in-law, Judy Reece Hodges and her husband Sam Hodges; niece and nephew Sarah Atkins and Jonathan Hodges. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday in the cemetery of Fairview Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. Rev. Gayle Stoker will officiate the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Hudson family. There will be no formal services held at the Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received after the service at her sons home of 2039 Cynthia Drive, Mount Airy.
