Joyce Wilbur Stanley

Ms. Joyce Wilbur Stanley, 78, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin. She was born May 16, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Jessie Alfred and Beatrice Lillian Coe Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Boyd. She was a member of Second Chance Church and was a retired CNA. Surviving are an adoptive son, Larry Grimes of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Randy and Jean Peele of Elkin and James William and Vicki Peel of Rockford, IL; seven grandchildren; two adoptive grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Stanley of Elkin. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Second Chance Church, with the Rev. Terry Coe and the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiatig. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Second Chance Church, where her body will remain until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Second Chance Church Building Fund, 467 Bear Creek Church Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday October 21, 2010 at Second Chance Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Terry Coe and Rev. Bill Jenkins will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Second Chance Church were her body will remain until the time of her service.
