Joyce Marie (Lawson) Whitaker

Mrs. Joyce Marie Lawson Whitaker, age 68 of Pinnacle, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Village Care in King, North Carolina.  Mrs. Whitaker was born on March 23, 1954, in Stokes County to the late John Samuel and Mae Ola Adkins Lawson.  Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and was faithful member of New Home Ministries Church.  She enjoyed camping, gospel music, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Whitaker will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving is her husband Danny Ray Whitaker, Sr. of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jody Whitaker and wife, Dana of Ararat, NC, Danny Ray Whitaker, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Mocksville, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Stephane Young and husband Ray of Danbury, NC; four grandchildren, Brianna Whitaker, Kimberly Whitaker both of Ararat, NC, and Adisen Whitaker and Cole Whitaker, of Mocksville.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Rutledge; and two brothers, Randall Lawson, and Samuel Lawson.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Ministries Church in Pinnacle, NC with Rev. Donnie Bowman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pinnacle Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at New Hope Ministries Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Ministries Church, 4288 N. Old 52 Road, Pinnacle, North Carolina 27043.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
