Juanita "Diddy" Gaye McMillian

Miss Juanita Gaye “Diddy” McMillian, 71, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on January 21, 1950, to the late Henry and Frances Harrell McMillian. Diddy was the most beloved and cherished member of a large and loving family. She helped everyone to enjoy and appreciate the simple things in life. “I am happy,” she would often say; and now, she is supremely happy in the presence of her Lord, Jesus Christ. Enjoy Heaven’s riches, sweet angel. We will see you again. Left to mourn her loss are her sisters and brother-in-law, Linda McMillian, Pat and Gary Johnson, and Mary Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Margaret McMillian; nieces and nephews, Sarah McMillian, Katie (Louis) Walker, Doug (Riley) McMillian, Jr., Benjamin (Amber) Johnson, Sally (Joey) Reece, and Crockett (Misty) Surratt. In addition to her parents, Diddy was preceded in death by an infant sister Brenda Lee McMillian; a brother, Donald Gray McMillian; two nephews, Donnie and Mickey McMillian. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM at Indian Grove Baptist Church, Monday, July 19, 2021, with Rev. Joe Smith and Dub Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
