Mrs. Juanita Johnson Scott, 82, of Siloam, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 24, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Charles Richard "Charlie" and Alma Eads Johnson. Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and attended Siloam Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Scott of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cynthia "Cindy" Scott of Siloam; a grandson, Daniel Glenn Scott of Siloam; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Carl Hobson and Lorene and Jack Frye, all of Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthie Poindexter; and a brother, Richard Johnson. The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Siloam Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Faw, the Rev. Jimmy Cain, and Chaplain Hal Finney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
