Mr. Jubel Jahue Taylor, Jr., 62, of 281 Lynnewood Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009, at his home. He was born December 30, 1946, in Welch, WV, to Mildred Lucille Yates Taylor and the late Jubel Jahue Taylor, Sr. He retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War, and retired from Lewisville Electric Company. Jubel was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jason D. Gates, Sr. of Mount Airy; a son, Jay James Taylor of Wendover, NV; four grandchildren, Jason D. Gates, Jr., Jessica C. Gates, Jacob D. Gates, and Judith A. Gates, all of Mount Airy; his mother, Mildred Lucille Yates Taylor of Elm City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Donald Riggins of Elm City and Deborah and Joel Boyles of Clemmons; and a brother, David Taylor, Sr. of Mocksville. In addition to his father, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Taylor. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Joel Boyles officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
