Judith Sue Butcher Jones

Mrs. Judith Sue Butcher Jones, age 85, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at her home.  She was born in Surry County on October 21, 1938 to the late Clarence and Tilda Ann Money Butcher.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 37 years, Albert Jones; daughter, Marie K. Rogers; grandchildren, Eric Jones, Nicole Jones (Austin Phillips), Lane Rogers (Holly Phillips); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jones, Parker Phillips; sisters, Frances Hatcher, and Patricia Ann Butcher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug Butcher, Clarence “Buck” Butcher (Priscilla), and Arthur Lewis Heller as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son Robert Jones; grandchild, Cayden Seth Morton; brother, Thomas “Bill” Butcher; stepmother, Muriel May Inscore Butcher. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 PM ~ 2:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.  Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Hope United  Methodist Church.
