Judith Gates

Mrs. Judith Gates, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Marietta, Georgia surrounded by her family on November 1, 2021. She was born in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippine Islands. After her marriage to George D. Gates, Judith moved to the United States with their first son. They went on to have two more sons and a daughter. Judith and George remained the example of a loving marriage for 55 years. Judith was a caring mother to her 4 children. She adored each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves an untarnished legacy of love for her family and devotion to her faith. She was an avid reader, an excellent gardener, and enjoyed traveling. She was involved in many aspects of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was an example of faith, love, dignity, grace, and devotion to her family and those who knew her. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother of the Philippines, her husband George D. Gates Sr., and her son Raymond Gates. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Mary and Dwight Coleman of Marietta, GA, sons and daughters in law, George Jr. and Sheryl Gates of Woodstock, GA, Charles C. and Ronda Gates of Mt. Airy, NC, and daughter in law, Linda Gates of Woodstock, GA, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 5, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Mt. Airy. Mrs. Gates will lie-in-state at the church Friday from 10:30 until 11:00.
