Rev. Donald Ray Ball

Rev. Donald “Don” Ray Ball, age 78, of Elkin, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 11, 2022.  Mr. Ball was born on February 5, 1944, in Forsyth County to the late Worth and Grace King Ball.  Don was loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He spent his life preaching the gospel as an evangelist and as a minister of several churches.  Left to cherish his memories is wife of 57 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” White Ball; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Johnson and husband Michael; a son, Dustin Ball; two grandchildren, Jared Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson; two sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Freeman, Judy Steedly and husband Eddie; two brothers and sister-in-law, Howard Ball, Dallas Ball and Sherry; along with serval nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Ball was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Ford.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Craddock, Rev. Rickey Martin, and Rev. Dewayne Sands officiating.  Burial to follow in the Dockery Family Cemetery in Dobson.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dockery Family Cemetery, in care of Amy Dockery, 200 Dobbins Mill Road, Elkin North Carolina 28621.
