Judy Kay Gunnell

Mrs. Judy Kay McCraw Gunnell, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, March 28, 2020, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Gunnell was born May 4, 1941, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Howard McCraw and Roseman Lowe Doby.  Judy was a devoted housewife and a loving wife and mother.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Gunnell of Mount Airy; a sister, Margaret Dixon of High Point; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jackie Turney of Mount Airy; and a special daughter, Christy Dixon.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gunnell was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rufus Gunnell; a sister, Patty Beck; and a brother, John Turney.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
