Ms. Judy Carol Lineback Lawson, age 71 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 15, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born March 15, 1952, in Surry County to the late Carroll Elwood Lineback and Josephine Eaton Lineback. Ms. Lawson retired from the textile industry and later worked at T and T Carports. Judy was a child of God who loved her church and loved her Lord. Granny lived life her way and her way only, baking cakes and making sure her grandkids were spoiled rotten. Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Johnson, Jeff and Susie Johnson, and Chad and Tennille Johnson; grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Sadie Sawyers, Waylan Johnson, Eli Johnson, Christine and Josh Hall, Anna Johnson, Abby Johnson, Ally Johnson, Kara and Isaac Burton, Chad Johnson, Jr., and Tripp Johnson; two great-grandsons, Luke Oakley and Jaxon Burton; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Ricky Tuttle; special friend and caregiver, Gloria Hill; her special kitty’s, Precious, Princess, and Muffin; and many other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ms. Lawson was preceded in death by a son and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie Lee Johnson, Jr. and wife Tammy, and Stormy Sawyers Johnson; grandson, Johnathan Johnson; sisters, Glenda Diane Bowman and Teresa Jo Butler; brother, Ronnie Elwood Lineback; and a very special friend, Clyde Conner. A service of worship and celebration will be held Saturday February 24, 2024, at 3:00pm at The People’s Church with Rev. Gene Brinkley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00pm. A special thank you goes out to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all of the love, care, and support given to Judy and the entire family. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
