Mrs. Julia Mae Mullis Bowman, age 86 of Chester, Virginia passed away at Well Spring Nursing Home in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. She was born in West Virginia to the late George Carson Mullis and Mary Lou Gaultney Mullis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Delano Bowman, Sr; and three children, Ted Delano Bowman, Jr., Gary Bowman, and Mabel Marie Bowman; eleven siblings, Josephine M. Hurley, Odell Mullis, Geneva M. Jennelle, Walter Mullis, Paul Mullis, Hazel M. Musick, Edward Mullis, Infant twin sister, Faye M. Faulkner, Bill Mullis, and Colbert Mullis. Julia was a devoted wife, loving mother of six, and caring grandmother.
Mrs. Julia Mullis Bowman is survived by three children, Walter Bowman, Danny E. Bowman, and Lisa Bowman; four grandchildren, Gary Bowman, Jr. and wife, Holli Mae, Madeline Bowman, Jacob Yates, and Kenneth Bowman; one great-grandchild, Tori Renee Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Julia Mullis Bowman will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart. Burial will follow in the Sehen Knowles Eden Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
