Mrs. June Maxine Hege Dockery, age 84, of Elkin, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at her residence. She was born June 22, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late George Edward Hege and the late Vera Martin Hege. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gilmer Dockery, sister, Carolyn Ashley; brother and sister-in-law George and Delma Hege. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Boles and Lesa and Randy Freeman; granddaughters, Victoria Dockery Long (Romeo) and Jade Freeman, great-grandchildren, Kaili Phillips, Jactavious Long, Taelyn Long, Khymani Long and Scarlet Miller; sister-in-law, Maxine Stanley; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Jamie, Faye, Frankie and Iris; and special canine companion, Scooter. Mrs. Dockery was a homemaker, a member of Healing Waters Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 1-2:30 P.M. at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A graveside service will follow at 3 :00 P.M. in the Dockery Family Cemetery with Reverend Steve Johnson officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38101. Due to current Covid-19 guidelines, anyone attending is asked to please wear a mask and follow proper social distancing practices. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Dockery family.
