Mrs. June Virginia Adams Gammons Brannock, 97, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, December 28, 2020, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Brannock was born June 18, 1923, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Willie Andrew and Emma Eliza Arrington Adams.  June was a loving housewife and farmer.  She was a faithful member of Woodville Baptist Church, serving as an adult Sunday school teacher for 45 years, the church clerk and treasurer for 55 years, and a member of the Tincy Hall WMU.  Additionally, she was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary.  She is survived by her stepchildren, Connie and Calvin Floyd of Lexington, Kathy and Dominick Guarnaccio of Mount Airy, and Donnie and Kathy Chapman of Winston-Salem; her stepgrandchildren, Tonya and Jonathan Stevens of Mount Airy, and Tina Moore and Mike Moore, both of Lexington; eight great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brannock was preceded in death by her first husband, Elbert Hurley Gammons; her second husband, Don P. Brannock; two brothers, Cecil Irvin Adams and Daniel Kenneth Adams; and two nephews, Danny Baxter Adams and Jerry Andrew Adams.  A graveside service will be held Friday, January 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Kilby, Bill Wight, and Jeremy Underwood officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love, compassion, and tender care shown by the staff at Northern Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Zelda Collins, 1591 Toms Creek Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC  27041.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
