Junior Elwood Hooker

          Mr. Junior Elwood Hooker, age 73 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home with his daughter holding his hand.  He was born in Patrick County on January 31, 1947 to the late Millard and Vera Pack Hooker.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Faye Bowman Hooker; one sister, Lessie Smart; and one brother, Paul Hooker.  Junior was the owner/operator of Hooker Brothers Repair Shop.  He drove a school bus in Patrick County for 18 years and was a member of Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He loved listening to and playing music especially his mandolin and guitar; loved to work outdoors; and enjoying time with his grandbabies.

          Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Charisse and Bryan Hall of Meadows of Dan; two grandchildren, Allysa Jordan, Masun Hall; one sister, Thelma Puckett of Meadows of Dan; one brother, Lloyd Hooker of Meadows of Dan; and four nieces.

          Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastors Ronald Thomas and Dale Belcher officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hooker Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 at the church.  Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, VA 24171.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
